So I was playin’ a gig at my friend John’s club, upstate New York, drinkin’ a Rheingold Beer, when, outta the blue I start singing the Rheingold jingle…you know, “My beer is Rheingold the dry beer, think of Rheingold whenever you buy beer, It’s refreshing, not sweet, it’s the extra dry treat, Won’t you buy, extra dry Rheingold beer.”…

…And, I notice this table of people singing along with me, word for word, so, on my break, I go up to them and say, “How come you guys know the words to that jingle?” So this woman says to me, “I’m the upstate New York area manager for Rheingold,” So, I say, “Oh, you know I think I should be the Rheingold Guy.”, and she says, “Yeah, I think so too.” Blah, Blah, Blah, yatta, yatta, here’s my card, call me, I’m eatin’ now, get away from me……

So, being an ex-film-maker, I ask the guy shootin’ my CD cover if he can do this Rheingold commercial with me, and he says, “Sure.”
